What you said is pretty much what Martin Luther King Jr said back in the 60's.

I really enjoyed your column. While I realize that it is common to refer to black, white or other communities based on race, your column speaks to a universal principle; mainly, that we are all children of God. As I read your writing, I couldn’t help but think that we should all adopt the mentality you espouse, that we all need to break our ties with both parties when we vote. We need to use our political power as a group to demand solutions. I just worry that we are faced with a Hobson’s choice. If we vote against one party out of principle alone as means of punishing the other party, we might find ourselves voting for someone we find repugnant. The inverse would be true as well. Nevertheless, I certainly agree with your message, so please keep writing it!

Thank you for reading and your comment. Yes, that's the problem with the two party dominant system. We usually end up voting for the lesser of two evils if you will. But, at the end of the day, we must vote for the platform and candidate that is the closest to our values. Even if we have to hold our nose in the process.
