For some Black people, Black is a meta value covering the face of their heirarchy of values pyramid. Everything they value irrespective of its value, has a Black prefix. I'll share an illustration I created with you.

And would you say an identity that's internalized? I saw the same thing in the Fruit of Islam back in Brooklyn. Distinctive, with pride and purpose.

Yes indeed. It is internalized based upon experiences. That's why they can appeal to those who identify themselves solely based on race.
