Uprooting Strongholds in the Black Community
How to tear down the four main strongholds in the Black Community
Webster’s Dictionary 1828 defines a stronghold as
A fastness; a fort; a fortified place; a place of security.
In order to see true change in the Black Community, we must first recognize the realities of the strongholds that exist today.
These strongholds include the pervasiveness of toxic hip hop culture, the idolatry of race, the dynamic of oppression, and the distraction of hyper materialism.
These four strongholds have taken root over the last half century to the detriment of black advancement.
These strongholds have choked self-agency and determination. What has arisen in their place is dependency and degeneracy.
The Black Community is spiraling down the descent of decadence which leads to poverty and misery.
And who profits off of this?
The spiritual forces with the end goal of removing Christ and the Biblical Principles that led to black prosperity in the past.
These spiritual forces masquerade as allies to the community, but are truly wolves in sheep’s clothing.
They utilize the superficial elements of race, gender and sex to persuade the Black Community to exchange their values for monetary gain.
The love of money is the root of all evil. And the lust for fame and fortune is the fruit that is produced.
So how do we bring down these strongholds?
First, we must know this is a long fight. We cannot grow weary in well doing.
Second, we need to have an abolitionist mindset. Meaning, we will not stop until the strongholds are torn down and destroyed.
This is done on two levels: spiritually and civically.
Spiritually, we must return to biblical truths. Not religious dogma. Or, doctrines of men.
We must teach people about who the God of the Bible really is.
We must re-program them biblically through the Word of God and the Power of God.
When the Word and Power are present, the community will experience the presence of God.
Civically, we have to re-condition the community to see themselves as an American first.
Not a Black American or an African-American, but an American.
When they have a sense of connection to this land, they will vote for people and policies that lead to human flourishing.
Now, this is a process that will require much effort and commitment.
Yet, I believe this is possible because with God, all things are possible to him who believes!
