This past weekend, I was in Sevierville, TN for my daughter’s volleyball tournament. While there, we noticed a Trump store. This store had all kinds of shirts, slogans, etc. All slogans were some derivation of Trump is great, Biden is not.
There was one phrase that has become commonplace in conservative circles,…“Let’s Go Brandon”!
For those of you who are unaware, Let’s Go Brandon is slang for “I hate Joe Biden”. But replace “I hate” with dirty comedians favorite four letter word that begins with F.
From a biblical standpoint, Christians should not utter this phrase. We are supposed to pray for our leaders so that we lead quiet and peaceful lives with all godliness and reverence. 1 Timothy 2:1-2.
Despite how much disdain we have for the current or any past administration, our role as believers in Christ is to always see government and political parties through the eyes of Christ. We should not be so tethered to a party that it fosters hatred of the members of another party.
Spiritually speaking, we must know that we do not wrestle against human beings. Joe Biden is not our enemy. Neither is Donald Trump our savior. There are demonic forces using men and women in an attempt to frustrate the Kingdom of God.
Those demons will not succeed of course. Yet we are playing right into their hands if we let strife rule.
We must walk in the love of God towards all. Those people are deceived. The ones screaming at the top of their lungs because they want to legally kill a baby; they are deceived. The devil has them captured.
It is on us to use our delegated authority to usher in the Kingdom of God on the earth. When we do that, we’ll see the change that we desire.
Yes, we must vote and get involved in government. However, we can’t allow politics to become an idol. God does not tolerate idols. You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only shall you serve.
