Watching all of the media coverage of the Johnny Depp trial reminds me as to why America is in the sad state that it is in today.
Some of the testimony emanating from that court room is down-right vulgar and dark. Hearing about drug use, alcohol abuse, physical and emotional abuse is disturbing. Yet this is far too common in a nation founded upon Judeo-Christian principals and values.
Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other
John Adams
When you understand that without a moral populace to govern, the US Constitution will not stand. The Republic that was built off of that document will erode and become something the founders never intended for it to be.
This is what we see reflected in the Johnny Depp case and in everyday life. Crime has increased across the nation. A massive spike of black murder victims occurred in 2020 as a result of all of the calls for defunding the police. Abortions have continued to expand. Immoral behavior is now the norm. It is safer to call evil good than to call good evil.
This has a chilling effect on a nation and on individuals.
On a personal level, we have a physical constitution and a spiritual constitution. The physical constitution is determined by the spiritual constitution. If the spirit of a person is strong, chances are the person is operating in peak physical condition. However, if a person faints or gives up in the day of adversity, then that person more than likely has a weak or dead spirit.
Too many of us are spiritual dead. Our spiritual constitution is wanting. This is reflected in our culture and in our government. Until we are resuscitated with the Spirit of Life, then it doesn’t matter who wins the Presidency or the Congress, the Nation will continue on its descent into the pit of destruction.
We can’t rely on a Pirate of the Caribbean to deliver us.
