This past weekend was a flashback to the 80s.
It’s as if Marty McFly pulled up in the DeLorean and said let’s ride. (Those of you who grew up in the 80s know who that is.)
Iron Mike Tyson made his way back into the ring for a highly anticipated fight with Jake Paul, a man over thirty years younger than him.
And, while the outcome of that “fight” was very predictable, the sense of nostalgia was undeniable.
Even the youngster knew it was something different.
Then, the next night Jon “Bones” Jones returned to the octagon at Madison Square Garden.
In attendance? President-elect Trump and a few of his close friends.
After his victory, Jones did the Trump dance and gave Trump his belt.
NFL players even got in on the action by doing the Trump dance!
4 years ago this would have been unthinkable!
A black man openly showing his admiration for Trump. NFL players not afraid to demonstrate their support of Trump.
Yet, here we are. Men are feeling empowered to be men.
This is what happens when men rise up and say we will no longer be the butt of your jokes.
Men are wanting to return to the natural position of leadership that is innate in them.
Yet, is this resurgence of masculinity biblical?
Only Biblical Masculinity will lead to true revival and restoration of our society.
Men that are submitted to Christ and follow Him.
These men are committed husbands, fathers, brothers, and sons.
They understand being a leader in the image of Christ means to serve.
It’s not about flexing with fast cars and beautiful women.
The real flex for a Biblical Man is being married to one woman and building a family with her.
Now that’s a flex!
