Here's the Problem with Black Republicans
We saw this past week that Daniel Cameron lost his race in Kentucky.
We see Tim Scott struggling to resonate with the voters.
The issue is that these candidates are not building their own coalitions.
Black conservatives should take it upon themselves to branch out into communities that are naturally conservative and take the message of conservatism to those communities.
Those communities would be more inclined to seriously consider them, if the candidates would make the effort to reach them.
However, because their handlers discourage them from doing so, they fail to capitalize on a voter base that is hungry for an alternative.
Black Republicans must run their races as if they are independent.
With the tainted image of the Republican party in these communities, it will take someone with an independent mindset to bring others into the tent.
Until that happens, Black Republicans will continue to struggle with resonating in national and statewide races.
