America no longer rewards hard work and personal responsibility.

Yes, I know that may sound unbelievable and a bit hyperbolic.  

Yet, this is what happens to a society that becomes secular.  The more secular that a society becomes, the larger government has to be in order to meet the needs of the citizens.

In the latest example, President Biden is considering canceling student loan debt up to $10000 for certain borrowers.  This is a bone thrown to the liberal, progressive base that has clamored for this since he became president.

In particular, this is another issue framed through the lens of race.  Because black women are disproportionately burdened by student loan debt, Democrats see this as a way to ensure their base is fired up for the midterms in November.

We must understand that most decisions politicians make are calculated to retain power.  No longer are politicians making decisions that are in the best interest of the country.  The decisions they make now are in the best interest of their political fortunes.

What about all of the people that had to take out loans to pay for college who happened to pay those back? Will they receive reimbursement?  

What about the students that acted responsibly and attended a school that was within their means?  Who will will repay those students back for the time they spent working multiple jobs just to pay for tuition?

Most of us have first hand knowledge of the burden that comes with student loan repayment.  

However, instead of marching in the streets and complaining, we understood that the decision to attend college was ours.  We didn’t wait for the government to pay us back for a decision that we made.

On the contrary, that is not the case in today’s society.  

In today’s society, if one makes a bad decision, it’s ok, the government will cover for you.  Want to terminate a pregnancy that you had a hand in creating?  There’s a Planned Parenthood facility right down the street.  Multiple ones if you live in a community of color.

Can’t cope with reality and need to get a fix?  Cities will set up designated locations for you shoot up responsibly.  

What has happened to the old-fashioned value of personal responsibility?  

It has gone the way of the CD and DVD player.  It is a relic of a time when people had sacred honor.  A time when you could trust the word of someone.  A time when your name was more valuable than any monetary asset one could acquire.

In this culture, being a person of honor is frowned upon.  Being honorable is seen as a scarlet letter.  This culture celebrates and promotes the do as thou wilt ideology.  The mentality that is self-centered and self-absorbed.

Having honor is reserved for those that are relics and have not evolved.  Those individuals are the right-wingers that cling to their guns and bibles.  They are the ones who are holding everyone back from fully expressing their own individual truths.

Besides, we all know that hard work and personal responsibility is just white supremacy.
