There are very few men of God. Men who are anointed to fulfill the true work of the ministry. Men who embody what it means to be a Pastor.
I can say that I was blessed to know and serve under a real man of God. Pastor Robyn Gool.
Pastor Gool passed on Friday evening.
While that truly has not sunk in yet, I wanted to take this time to celebrate the impact that he had on my life.
Being raised in a single parent household, it was and has been tough for me to receive leadership from a man. Especially, a black man. This is the case with a number of young black men due to the propensity for us to be raised without a father in the home.
This produces a lack of trust in authority figures.
So, when I first joined Victory, God had to break up the hard soil that had developed over the years. And He used Pastor Gool to do that and more.
Initially, it was done through the anointed teaching of the Word.
But, it was through conversations over the years that really proved to me that Pastor Gool had the heart of a pastor.
That he did not just preach it, but he truly lived it.
The many times that he spoke directly into my life has made a tremendous impact on the trajectory of my family and my marriage. It was in those rough patches that his guidance and wisdom were paramount.
I knew I could count on him to give it to me straight. And, even though that’s not what I wanted to hear at that moment, that’s what I needed the most.
Once that level of trust was established, I knew I could discuss anything with him. He became my spiritual father.
I can say that no man has impacted my life more than Pastor Gool.
He had a way of identifying gifting and talents in people before they even realized it.
That was the case with GIG.
He gave me the opportunity to walk in a calling and gifting that was simmering underneath the surface. The privilege of serving in this ministry has awakened me to truly fulfill the purpose that God has for my life.
Without Pastor Gool’s sensitivity and foresight, this would have remained dormant.
I was always honored to serve in his place at any event that he asked me to attend. I counted it a privilege and an honor.
It humbled me whenever he would call and ask my advice regarding the elections. Our last conversation is one that I will cherish.
We were fortunate enough to express our gratitude as a family to him and Mrs. Gool over the past year.
What can you give to a person that has given so much to you?
Everything.
I will miss you PG. See you soon.
Beautiful sentiment. He was truly a Geneneral of faith. Praying for you and your family.
Amen Shawn. He was a great pastor and spiritual father. A Christian indeed! I believe all of us are hurting to know he’s no longer here on earth. However, we know where he is and that we will see him again. Death is not the end of the story!!🤲🏽🤲🏽
