Growing up, we all have thought that we were something that we were not. At one time, I thought I was Magic Johnson and my friend thought he was Larry Bird. Now mind you my friend who thought he was Larry Bird is black, but according to feelings or imagination, skin color doesn’t matter.
But, in today’s culture, it appears that feelings are the only thing that matters. Especially when it comes to transgenderism. If you feel that you are a girl, although you have the equipment of a boy, you can change your name and pronouns. Then, to solidify this, the culture codifies this behavior by establishing pronouns that reassure and reaffirm the feelings of that individual.
Recently, I came across a plan by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School system that allows trans students to transition in school without parental consent. So, if a student believes in their mind that they are trapped in the wrong body and desire to change what God has given them, then counselors at the school will come alongside and help them with that endeavor.
Regardless of where a person falls on the spectrum of transgenderism, the hidden truth is that we are building a society that is based on feelings. When a society begins to elevate feelings over truth, then that society is headed towards destruction. A society based on truth is equitable, a society based on feelings is not.
We must realize that the path we are on will only lead to depression and annihilation. We are self-sabotaging our posterity. Instead of walking alongside our children and parenting them, we are buddying up to them and encouraging them to pursue self-destructive behavior.
As men, it is on us to lead and shepherd our families. As we direct our families on the path of righteousness, we can move past feelings and reestablish truth. Truth that is found in the Word of God. Truth that has passed the test of time.
Unless we stand for truth, we will all fall under the deception of feelings.
